Great sushi, very fresh fish, and simple but good flavoring. The ramen was not as good as I had expected but still pretty great considering the pricing, the noodles were a bit over cooked in my opinion. Overall would probably come back for the sushi for sure

Just ok, honestly - depending on your expectations.
Looking for a cheap and cheerful meal that won't break the bank? If you don't mind being crammed in a super noisy space, it's worth a go. Kura seems to be really popular with students & to-go customers and I'd say maybe go that way because the interior isn't much to get excited about.
They are listed as a sushi place which is what we wanted, and they do have it, but it's a short menu. My husband really wasn't impressed with his sushi sampler - he said it was like grocery store sushi. I had a chicken katsu which was just "ok" - it was a little undercooked which is always a little concerning.
The people working are really nice, the food comes up lightning fast and it's cheap! Lots of combos for under $15. Not really my jam but I think if you're ok with no frills it's worth checking out. -

Sad sushi face.
What a disappointment. On our last night in Australia, I wanted sushi. After checking out online what the Haymarket/Chinatown had to offer, I settled on Hiura. It had the highest number of reviews and highest ratings in the area. I was misled by all of it. First of all, sushi turns out to be about the fourth priority on the menu behind teriyaki, rice bowls and noodle dishes. The sushi selection is very limited. I was hoping to find a place that was larger than a hole in the wall. Wrong, this place is tiny, maybe only room for 12 people at a time. Worst of all: NO BOOZE! No one else thought to mention that in any of the reviews so I am telling you all now! At least service was lightening fast and we got in and out in about 20 minutes. The food we had was fine but uninspired. There must be better in the area. -

Very small, hole in the wall shop right across from Paddy's Markets. Cheap prices, fresh food and fast service. I loved my Salmon and Avocado rolls, my Chicken Katsu Ramen was a little greasy but it hit the spot all the same. Great place to dine alone and people watch.

The ramen was so good! The noodle was cooked perfectly! I love the flavor of the pork belly, it is very rich and tender. We finished everything, clean bowls and plates! Karaage and agedashi tofu were delicious as well. Glad we finally stopped here after passing by almost every day.
